These tanks were the BIGGEST thing to hit around X-mas last year in '04, and have since gained popularity by alot of WWII enthusist as well as Rc enthusist. Its a very large scale [1/6] Stuart M5A1 light armor tank replica.

I bought 2 of these over time and have been steadly working on one and keeping the one you see here stock because its body was molded with the track shields in place. These Rc's are loaded with features like independent track controls, turning turret, firing ammo, working suspension, machine gun sounds, recoil action, and realistic tools on the rear. The tank runs on a 12v battery that will have you out & about for hours on end. Its a massive 30lbs with the battery loaded and can run over just about anything you put in its path.

AWESOME DETAIL

I keep this one stock with the trackshields in place and left the desert camo paint intact that the factory put on it. The detail is so amazing, it is detailied right down to the nuts and bolts that made up the body. This was the second run of the tanks. The first run they were all olive drab in color and the controls were installed backwards in the first runs. Meaning that the right track control really controlled the left and vise versa. This one they were installed right on. But if you ask me the first editions were more fun to run :).

It won't top out doing 40mph but the scale speed of the tank really puts you into the feel of really driving a real tank. The only other thing is the radio frequency issue. No matter what version you buy and I believe ther are 4 versions now the desert camo, winter camo, olive drab, and vietnam camo...thay all run on the same frequency which sucks! But I hope to in the future finish out my other one with a new FM radio system by scrapping all the weak radio gear it came with.

The tanks are so large that running over anything is very possiable. The tanks came with 2 I believe to be 540 style motors that used a gear reduction at each motor to really make this monster crawl. the tracks are very sturdy and not to be considered a weak link when it comes to climbing.

Although running them outside as I have in the past in mud and sand the sand really takes its toll on the tread idler wheels. If you run them in the sand make sure to blow them out real good inbetween the tracks and the idler wheels to keep friction and wear  of the idler wheels to a minimum.
